Florida Awards CNResource School Meals Initiative (SMI) Contract
MESA, Arizona (15 December 2008) - The Florida Department of Education recently announced that CNResource has been awarded a contract to complete a series of School Meals Initiative (SMI) reviews from now until the end of April 2009. CNR was notified on 3 December 2008 that they were the winning bidder.
“This is the first opportunity we have had to do work for the Florida Department of Education and we are excited to partner with them”, said Rich Crandall, President of CNResource. In its capacity with the state of Florida between now and April, CNResource will conduct menu analyses for approximately 30 schools, each of those involving a site visit and records review. The company has been doing SMI reviews for state agencies for the past six years, completing work for Texas, South Dakota, Arizona, The District of Columbia, Oregon, Louisiana, and now Florida. Their previous experience provides CNResource with the expertise necessary to fulfill the Florida contract with accuracy and efficiency.
Since 2002, CNResource has provided assistance with oversight requirements for USDA child nutrition programs including the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), and the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). In addition, CNResource is the owner/creator of CN Menus, an on-line menu analysis program being launched in January 2009.
